Your guide to the primetime network finales

As TV starts to shut the door on another season, some of your favorite shows — well, at least those that weren’t cancelled — will be airing their season finales.
Here’s a handy guide to some notable season-enders — and what to expect as these series head to the beach for the summer.

May 8

“Superior Donuts” (9 p.m. on CBS)

Franco (Jermaine Fowler) and Randy (Katey Sagal) are determined to learn the truth about where a tight-lipped Arthur (Judd Hirsch) really spends each Sunday.

May 10

“Criminal Minds” (9 p.m. on CBS)

Reid (Matthew Gray Gubler) squares off with an old nemesis, and Derek Morgan (Shemar Moore) provides a lead that might help catch Mr. Scratch — the elusive fugitive that has been tormenting the team all season.

“Black-ish” (9:30 p.m. on ABC)

Dre (Anthony Anderson) wants Bow’s (Tracee Ellis Ross) baby shower to be unforgettable. However, his plans are put on hold when Bow stops by the OB/GYN with a headache — and discovers she’s having complications.

May 11

“The Big Bang Theory” (8 p.m. on CBS)

Sheldon’s (Jim Parsons) former admirer, Dr. Ramona Nowitzki (Riki Lindhome), resurfaces while Amy (Mayim Bialik) is away at Princeton.

“Chicago Med” (9 p.m. on NBC)

Dr. Halstead (Nick Gehlfuss) and Dr. Manning (Torrey DeVitto) work together to diagnose a Syrian refugee without a medical record. A new hotshot on the scene gives Dr. Rhodes (Colin Donnell) a run for his matinee-idol money.

“Life in Pieces” (9:30 p.m. on CBS)

Joan (Dianne Wiest) and John (James Brolin) rush their dog to the vet after he swallows Matt’s (Thomas Sadoski) wedding ring. When Colleen (Angelique Cabral) and Matt miss all the flights to Mexico for their wedding, they question if they will ever get married.

May 12

“Hawaii Five-0” (9 p.m. on CBS)

McGarrett (Alex O’Loughlin) risks his life to rescue young girls trapped in a sex trafficking ring. Also, Kono (Grace Park), deeply affected by the case, makes a life-changing decision.

May 15

“Man With a Plan” (8:30 p.m. on CBS)

Adam (Matt LeBlanc) and Andi (Liza Snyder) toy with having another baby when Don (Kevin Nealon) and Marcy’s (Kali Rocha) newborn grandson comes for a visit.

May 16

“NCIS” (8 p.m. on CBS)

Gibbs (Mark Harmon), McGee (Sean Murray) and Torres (Wilmer Valderrama) travel to Paraguay to locate a missing Navy Seal who disappeared during an unsanctioned trip. Cue the local group of violent rebels.

May 17

“Modern Family” (9 p.m. on ABC)

Manny’s (Rico Rodriguez) father, Javier (Benjamin Bratt), shows up for his graduation and takes him out on a wild night, and then Jay (Ed O’Neill) steps in to pick-up the pieces.

May 18

“Grey’s Anatomy” (8 p.m. on ABC)

Disaster strikes, but that’s nothing new for a “Grey’s Anatomy” season-ender. A dangerous patient escapes from a hospital room. Who gets hurt? Who dies? Meanwhile, Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) has some big news for Nathan (Martin Henderson).

“Supergirl” (8 p.m. on The CW)

Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) challenges Rhea (Teri Hatcher, below left, with Chris Wood) to a battle to save National City.

“Scandal” (9-11 p.m. on ABC)

Olivia (Kerry Washington) risks everything to make sure Mellie’s (Bellamy Young) inauguration goes off without a hitch. In the second hour, Fitz (Tony Goldwyn) uses his power to make some unexpected changes before leaving the Oval Office.
