In other words, there’s lots of long dark hair, family infighting and Italian-style entrepreneurship in the mix.
The series follows self-made woman Christina Oliva, who began her own hair extension empire at the age of 18, and just opened a new salon in Midtown. “I got everything on the loyne [line],” Christina said in the sizzle reel shown to the press last week.
“We fell in love with her,” said TLC President Nancy Daniels. “I love the accent, the family came through as just rich, fun characters and it’s a world you want to be part of.”
The six-part series got us to thinking they must be putting something in the pignoli cookies in Staten Island, which is a hotbed of reality TV talent. Other shows set in the outer borough include “Mob Wives,” “Staten Island Cakes” and “Staten Island Law.”
